The brother-in-law of slain Ohio dentist Spencer Tepe, who was found next to his deceased wife Monique Tepe, is sharing his thoughts on newly released information by police.
The Tepes were found dead in their Columbus, Ohio home after police responded to a request for a welfare check on Tuesday, Dec. 30, the Columbus Division of Police announced at the time. The couple’s two young children were found physically unharmed inside the residence.
On Monday evening, Columbus police shared footage of a person of interest in the case, showing a hooded figure, their face obscured, walking in a snowy alleyway.
The person appears eerily calm as they walk, at one point briefly raising their right arm to their face, with their back to the security camera.
“I do think, you know, (it’s a) suspicious-looking person there,” Rob Misleh, Spencer’s brother-in-law, told NewsNation. “It also very well could be … somebody walking home drunk from a bar.”
Misleh, who the outlet reports is now caring for the orphaned children, added that the couple were “so well liked and admired by everyone” and he has no idea about any enemies they may have had.

Police say they believe the Tepes were killed between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. early morning of Dec. 30, which is the timeframe where the person of interest was seen walking in the alley near their residence.
The investigation began after a co-worker of Spencer’s called for a welfare check when he did not show up for work, and Monique was not answering her calls, CNN previously reported, citing call records.
The beloved couple’s killing has shaken the community and their family.
A fundraiser has been set up for their orphaned children.
“They were the proud parents of two beautiful children, and every day they showed up with unwavering love and devotion to their family,” Audrey (Tepe) Mackie, the organizer, wrote in the GoFundMe.
